ReturnMemo Privacy Policy

ReturnMemo is designed to help you save thoughts, memories, photos, videos, voice notes, and shared moments so they can return at the right time. This Privacy Policy explains how ReturnMemo collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the app.

1. Information We Collect

Account and profile information: ReturnMemo may collect information you provide when creating or editing your profile, such as your name, profile photo, about text, and optional website link.

Cards and memory content: When you create a card, ReturnMemo stores the content you choose to save, which may include text, photos, videos, voice notes, return dates, captions, and related card details.

Shared Spaces and shared content: If you use Shared Spaces, ReturnMemo stores information needed to share cards with selected people, including shared cards, space names, member information, sender details, shared history, and return timing.

Notifications: ReturnMemo uses notifications to remind you when saved cards are ready to return and to let you know about shared moments or shared-space activity. To provide notifications, ReturnMemo may store device notification tokens and notification preferences.

App preferences: ReturnMemo may store app preferences such as language selection, app settings, and feature preferences.

2. How We Use Information

ReturnMemo uses information to:

• create, store, display, and return your cards;
• support Personal Space, Shared Spaces, and Shared History;
• send return reminders and shared-space notifications;
• show profile and sender information to people you choose to share with;
• support language preferences and app settings;
• improve app reliability, security, and user experience;
• provide customer support and respond to account or data requests.

3. Cards, Media, and Shared Spaces

Your cards and media are used to provide the features you choose to use. If you share a card or join a Shared Space, the content and related profile information may be visible to the people in that Shared Space or to the people you choose to share with.

You are responsible for the content you create and share in ReturnMemo. Please avoid sharing sensitive information with people you do not trust.

4. Notifications

ReturnMemo sends notifications for return moments, shared cards, shared-space activity, and other app-related reminders. You can manage notification permissions through your device settings.

Some notifications are scheduled on your device, while others may be sent through cloud services so shared-space members can receive return reminders even when the app is not open.

5. App Lock

ReturnMemo may offer App Lock to help protect access to the app using Face ID, fingerprint, or your device passcode. Biometric authentication is handled by your device operating system. ReturnMemo does not receive or store your fingerprint, face scan, or device passcode.

6. Language and Translation

ReturnMemo supports multiple app languages. Your language preference may be stored so the app can display supported text and notifications in the language you choose.

When an eligible viewer chooses Translate, the selected written card text or written media caption is sent to Google Cloud Translation. Voice audio is not transcribed, video dialogue is not translated, photos are not scanned with OCR, and no automatic translation occurs.

ReturnMemo does not modify the sender's original content. ReturnMemo keeps translated results only in process or session memory and does not persist them as card content. Machine translations may contain errors, and the original remains authoritative.

Google currently documents that submitted text is used only as necessary to provide Cloud Translation, is held briefly in memory to return the result, is not made public, is not shared with third parties, and is not used to train or improve Google Translation features. 7. Data Sharing

ReturnMemo does not sell your personal information.

ReturnMemo may share information only as needed to:

• provide app features you choose to use;
• store and process data through trusted service providers;
• send notifications;
• comply with legal obligations;
• protect the safety, security, and integrity of ReturnMemo and its users.

8. Service Providers

ReturnMemo may use trusted third-party services, including cloud storage, database, authentication, notification, analytics, crash reporting, or hosting providers. These services help operate and improve the app.

9. Data Storage and Security

ReturnMemo uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to help protect your information. However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure. You should use care when creating or sharing sensitive content.

10. Data Retention

ReturnMemo keeps information for as long as needed to provide the app’s features, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and support app operations.

Some content may remain stored until you delete it, remove it from a Shared Space, or request account/data deletion where available. Shared content may be retained, removed, or anonymized when necessary to protect other users’ Shared Spaces or records.

11. Account and Data Deletion Requests

You can delete your ReturnMemo profile and associated app data from inside the app by going to Settings > Privacy > Delete account and data.

When you use the in-app deletion option, ReturnMemo will delete or remove profile information, personal cards, local app data tied to the profile, notification tokens, and uploaded media where deletion is reasonably possible.

For Shared Spaces or shared content involving other users, ReturnMemo may remove your membership, transfer ownership where needed, anonymize your name as “Deleted user,” or retain limited shared content when necessary to preserve records for other users in that Shared Space.

You may also request help with account access, data questions, or deletion by contacting us at support@returnmemo.com. Some information may need to be retained for legal, security, backup, or operational reasons.

12. Children’s Privacy

ReturnMemo is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission, please contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

13. International Users

If you use ReturnMemo outside the United States, your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate. By using ReturnMemo, you understand that your information may be processed according to this Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

ReturnMemo may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are made, the “Last Updated” date will be revised. Continued use of ReturnMemo after changes means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
